POLICY ON INSPECTION BODIES

WORKING IN THE FIELD OF METROLOGY

 

In order to conform to the requirements of IAF/ILAC-A4:2004 “Guidance on the application of ISO/IEC 17020”, p.1.4 that inspection bodies in which activity “analytical testing” consists “a part of inspection will need to do so in accordance with the relevant requirements of ISO/IEC 17025”, inspection bodies working in the field of metrology shall meet the following requirements:

 

1.   To have the procedures for estimation of measurement uncertainties for the main parameters, which are defined using reference standards; to be able to calculate measurement uncertainties and to be able to present it in the documents issued (LST EN ISO/IEC 17025, P.5.4.6);

 

2.   To apply the policy of the Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau on proficiency testing and interlaboratory comparisons and on internal quality control (LST EN ISO/IEC 17025:2006, p. 5.9);

 

3.   To have traceability schemes indicating transmission of the unit of physical quantity from reference standards to the working measurement instruments (LST EN ISO/IEC 17025:2006, p. 5.6.2 p.).
